With a variety of fitness programs and activities designed for all ability levels, residents can improve their strength, flexibility, balance, and overall wellness while enjoying the encouragement and camaraderie of friends and neighbors. Interval Training (Tabata)

Interval Training Workout (Tabata)

Interval training involves alternating short burst of low impact exercises or resistance training with rest periods. The benefits include improved cardiovascular fitness and increased calorie burn. No equipment is needed but if you prefer you can bring your own hand held weights. Bring a water bottle. Class is $5.

Low Impact Aerobics

Come move with us to the music of the 50s and 60s. We have fun working out to great music.  No equipment is needed but if you prefer you can bring your own hand held weights. Bring a water bottle. Class is $5.

Water Aerobics*

San Tan Water Aerobics

San Tan Water Aerobics is open to all SSV residents and their guests. The Workouts last 40-50 minutes. Participants may exercise every day or as many mornings as they wish. There is NO charge for attendance.
 
We use equipment on certain days, as follows:
  • Monday & Friday - no equipment 
  • Tuesday & Thursday - pool noodles are encouraged but you may work out without equipment 
  • Wednesday - pool bar bells or weights are encouraged but you may work out without equipment

Springwood Water Aerobics 
 
The afternoon Water Aerobics session meets 4 afternoons per week (Mondays through Thursdays) and welcomes residents who enjoy mixing high- and moderate-intensity water aerobics with HIIT (high intensity interval training), pool noodle work, and stretching.  We are a very friendly group, charge no fees to join (members can come and go as their schedule allows), and always welcome new members.
 
Meets:
  • Every Monday through Thursday (except for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day)
  • 3:30 pm (October 1-March 31); 4:00 pm (April 1-September 30)

Yoga

YOGA meets ALL YEAR LONG
 
During the months of October thru May 3 times a week in the Springwood Auditorium, M-W-F at 8:45-10:00 a.m. Participants should sign in & pay at 8:30 with their YOGA mats, blocks, straps & blanket. YOGA is done barefoot. We have experienced, registered YOGA Instructors to assist with modifications for newbies & advanced yogis.
 
Summer months June thru September we meet 2 times a week at the San Tan Center (Wednesdays & Fridays). Same time.
 
JOIN US- cost $5.00 per class. YOGA is done barefoot.
